Meet Bailey Harrell

He started in 2017 in the wash bay, scrubbing down trucks. Today, he serves as the Superintendent of Track Construction & Repair in Merryville, IN. He is on-site as the project manager for a three-year deployment, overseeing 20 skilled workers replacing 56 massive car retarder panels and 42,000 linear feet of existing track and raising and resurfacing 30,000 feet of track. He has all the necessary equipment at his disposal: an Inspection Truck, two Hi-Rail Excavators, two rail carts, a Hi-Rail Dump Truck, a Grapple Truck, a Backhoe, a Track Van, a Spiker, a Tamper, and a Ballast Regulator.

What does Bailey think about working with Cranemasters?

“It’s cool. They took me under their wing and taught me everything about rail work. Now, I can operate super heavy-duty cranes or spike rail, whatever it takes. I’ve been at derailments all over the country with cars on fire and hanging over bridges. It’s hard work, but no other job has been more exciting or rewarding. America needs railroads, and railroads need Cranemasters.”
